I know it’s not Sunday, but watching the news about Hurricane Ida, made me want to connect with our community.

 

We, at Rural Sprout, send our hearts and thoughts out to those dealing with the aftermath of this terrible storm. 

It’s already been a tough hurricane season, and it seems as though it’s just getting started. This got me thinking about how quickly our lives can be turned upside down by the weather.

 

As homesteaders, gardeners and folks generally interested in self-sufficiency, we often have a leg up on our neighbors when it comes to being prepared. 

But I wanted to share a couple of articles with you to help you and your family prepare for an unexpected emergency. Even if you don’t live where hurricanes are a threat, losing power or access to clean water can happen anywhere and for many reasons.
