Hey there, Rural Sprout Readers,
Another week has come and gone, and preserving mode is in full swing! It's that time of year when the water bath canner never leaves the stovetop. Between pickles and jam and mead and cider, I've barely had a moment to sit down.
You've been sending in photos of all your gardens, and we enjoy seeing the creativity and diversity of everyone's setup.
This week we're sharing a particularly beautiful setup from one of our readers in Utah.
Janean Toone wrote in and shared her and her husband's garden. Janean writes,
"I'm sharing a few pics of our garden this year. My husband does metal sculpture, so pretty much everything around here is made from metal :)
We wanted to do something different this year that would keep things more manageable and be more attractive to look at. Our garden is on the side of his shop and is seen from the road. I love what he created, and it has been so enjoyable to take care of! Utah is in the middle of one of the worst droughts we've ever had. Our lawn may look horrible but, for whatever reason, our garden has flourished!"
I've got plenty of great articles for you this week, but I wanted to take a moment to draw your attention to two specific pieces I think you'll enjoy. Grab your coffee or tea and take a few moments to read these two pieces by Adam Skelton. Adam is new to Rural Sprout and has interviewed two very unique individuals with very interesting stories.
