It’s October, and as always happens in October, I find myself wondering where the time went. My to-do list has been growing as fast as I check things off. I need to get a few perennials in the ground this week. I’ve been working on reclaiming an overgrown flower bed, and I can’t wait to see how it all comes together next year when everything blooms.

I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I love planting perennials in the fall.

It’s much easier and more relaxed, and then next spring, it’s like a surprise when the small, immature plants I put in the ground in the fall show up, large and covered in blooms. It’s so gratifying!
