Yesterday, the boys and I spent the entire day working outdoors. They swept all the collected debris from this past winter off the front porch and washed all the patio furniture. I created a new rhubarb bed with two new plants and a
transplant from the backyard. And the boys and I worked on getting mulch down for pathways in the new garden.
We capped off the day sitting on the clean front porch, eating dinner and watching the world go by our door.
Today is shaping up to be my kind of Mother’s Day. Quiet and relaxed. We made blueberry pancakes together in the kitchen. The boys gave me flowers to plant in my flower beds and a “relaxing” tea sampler. Now, we’re all lounging in the living room,
reading and chatting while I drink my coffee.
I’m moving a little slower today, but that’s probably a good thing on a day when moms are supposed to relax.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there from Rural Sprout!
