💡Spring Frost Protection - Eat Hostas - The Lights Are Back On

Hiya, Rural Sprout readers,

Hoo boy! What a week. I was reminded of why I'm "almost" a homesteader. Living without electricity, heat, running water and internet was an adventure I don't wish to repeat anytime soon.

But I was reminded of what happens when we unplug.

The house was blissfully quiet without the hum, whir and rattle of everything that makes it modern and comfortable.

At night, I was in bed early. Without bright electric lights, my body knew it was time to rest. And I enjoyed sipping my coffee in the brisk morning air while I cooked breakfast on my Coleman camp stove on the back patio.

Even though I don't wish to live like this all the time, maybe I won't put my glass oil lamps away just yet.
