Greetings, Rural Sprout readers,
Another week has come and gone, and a new one is beginning. (A very hot one at that.) Before I head into another workweek, I’m taking a quiet Sunday to putter. We had family in town this weekend for a local arts festival. It’s always nice to spend time with them and see how big
everyone’s kids are getting. The garden is slowly catching up after we got it in so late this year. Changing the direction of the rows has helped with our drainage issues, though.
I’m not a patient person. Anyone in my family can attest to that. So, I’m getting annoyed seeing everyone else’s gardens in full bloom, pumping out produce while mine is still catching up. But there is still plenty of garden season to go, and with this heat, it will definitely catch up. Standing in the
rows, seeing my first few zucchini grow, I have to remember that this is a necessary change that will improve our garden for years to come. And if that means I don’t get a big harvest this year, then that’s okay.
In the meantime, I would love to hear from you, readers.
How are your gardens doing? We always enjoy getting photos of their gardens from our readers. Do you have anything that’s doing especially well? How about something you’re struggling with? We would love to hear from
you!
