I, too, get a little bit squirrel-ish around this time of year. I start nesting and preparing my home, whether subconsciously or with a plan, for the cooler weather that’s just around the corner. I dust thoroughly, wash and hang blankets out to dry (It’s so nice having an outside clothesline again!), and clean and tidy up
my space.
Piles of summer flotsam and jetsam that have accumulated here and there finally get put in their proper place. Wood furniture gets polished, and brass candlesticks get polished, too. I don’t rush, but move to whatever task strikes my fancy next. By the time the first cold, blustery day rolls around, my home is warm and inviting.
