My dad used to make this stuff by the gallon when I was a kid. While I was at mom’s house, it was tall, frosted glasses of Kool-Aid. (Blech!) But my weekends with Dad meant drinking glass after glass of switchel from Mason jars all summer.
Of course, Dad’s version of switchel was always heavy on the vinegar. Something I’m sure my dentist wouldn’t approve of. I wasn’t especially fond of his recipe either, if I’m honest, which is why I tweaked it as an adult into something infinitely more sippable (or chuggable if you’ve been working hard and are dripping with sweat).
My version is far less harsh on your tooth enamel, too.
Without further ado, this week’s What’s Up Wednesday is all about delightful summer sippers you can make yourself—starting with switchel, of course.
