Â
Well, it will be in a couple of months anyway. Right now, everything is gray. All of our snow has melted away, and we’re experiencing a strange midwinter thaw.Â
Â
Everything always looks so bedraggled without the blanket of snow. It covers a multitude of sins. And all of the dog poop
that didn’t get picked up on the curb.
Â
I remember back when I worked at Penn State, once the snow would thaw, I would go for a long walk on my lunch break and count all of the tubes of lip balm lying on the edge of the sidewalks in the last bit of leftover snow.
Â
How many poor souls had reached into their pocket, hoping to soothe their wind-chapped lips, only to realize they had lost their lip balm in a snowbank? Â
