I figured I would slip into your inbox while we're all experiencing that final afternoon march to the end of the workweek. Grab a cup of your favorite hot wake-up juice, and I'll see if I can us get to the weekend a little faster.

Companion planting seems to be a dividing topic among gardeners.

Many swear by it, many think it’s bunk, and still, many more are just plain confused by companion planting. One thing is for certain: there’s a plethora of bad information out there about it.

For the longest time, there hasn’t been much to back up the claims made about growing certain plants next to one another and not next to others.

But science is starting to catch up with what many a wise gardener has suspected all along.

Soil research is relatively new, but we’re finding out some incredible things go on below ground 🌱 that can both positively and negatively impact your garden.

Unfortunately, many home gardeners still get companion planting horribly wrong, which can mean all of your efforts are for nothing.

Or worse, we end up accidentally creating situations that lead to a pest-filled season with poor yields.

Even if you don't plan on using companion planting in your garden, it's a good idea to know what plants not to plant next to each other.

Ten years ago, most gardeners had never heard the word “allelopathic” before. But these days, it’s important for all gardeners to know what an allelopathic plant is. These sneaky root ninjas can have devastating effects on your garden, whether or not you plan on practicing companion planting.
