As things start winding down in the garden, it’s tempting to close it all up, head indoors and forget about it until that first seed catalog shows up in the mail, which seems to happen earlier every year.

Sometimes, I think the seed companies are worse than the retailers who put out Christmas stuff, well, right now.

But before you forget about your garden for the year, take a few minutes to jot down some notes about this season. Writing things down now, while it’s still fresh in your mind, will help you make better plans next season. 

Speaking of Christmas, now is a great time to start a batch of festive cider so it will be ready for said holiday.
